I know for rappers and other artists, they have the big houses and the nice rides but for people who are middle class or lower, it seems like having a slick ride is more important than a nice house. I am not the same. Maybe it was the way I was raised, I don't know. I think having a nicer house in a better area is more important than a dope car.

For some people, it matters. I can see why you'd rather invest more in a car but if you are thinking of your future then it is clear you need to shift gears on this.

I think this was more true in the 90's and early 2000's. I see more people driving beaters and living in houses vs driving Navigators and living in a whole in the wall apartment.

Yeah it isn't a common thing anymore. There is a risk with owning a nice ride when you live in a bad area. I grew up in one and got robbed several times. Owning a nice car was just a bad idea for me.

My cousin lived in a pretty bad area. I drove out to stay with him back in 2014. My car ended up getting a window busted in and all my stuff I had was taken, including my MP3/CD player.

I feel you wishslayer. Im someoe who wants a house over a nice car. A nice car looks nice, yea! but I wnat some space where I can lay down, sleep, watch T.V, cook something, listen to music. Shower, and all that fun stuff! Im not asking for much, just a bit fancy mansion lol.

And if I don't get that? Well, something maybe with a backyard at least =)

I'd take a nice house and a big yard over flashy clothes and a tricked out whip any day. I think that kind of mindset has changed a lot though. I really don't know a single person who would trade a decent house for a car.

Never really paid much attention to this if I am being honest with ya'll. I think this was just an "idea' pushed across because of stereotyping. That and it is cheaper to own a decent car than a nice house, specially if you live in the inner cities.
