Audacity Discussion

Post by Bangarang » Sat Jan 06, 2018 12:35 am

So here's where we have a discussion on using Audacity for music making.

Now, it's not a professional level tool, lemme tell ya. Since it's free and all and a lotta ppl use it for making simple audio files for video's. BUT you can use it to make music, add to it, and level it out starting off.

While I won't go full in depth (since I'm still new at this) here, check out this tutorial I been following.

It's true what they say in the article. Gotta learn it all if you wanna make it big and start from the bottom.
Gonna make it one day, believe me.

Hey man, I got some links for ya for some music tutorials if you want. I used Audacity before for other reasons, but I can help you get a nice start.

Also, you know of all the other programs you can download other than Audacity, right? Audacity is good for like, voice work but hardly for music. You want to start off because you wanna make it but you gotta have the right tools. Audacity will only take you so far.

Surprised it's still around. I remember using this ages ago for non music related tasks. It had an outdated user interface then and they don't seem to have made any effort to update that. I think with some new features and a updated user interface it'd be a good tool.

Yeh thats my problem with it now. My budget is next to nil, so I go with what I can get a hold of for free. But like you siad, the user interface is outdated, and isnt very intuitive. Half the time Im scrolling through menu's just tryin to figure stuff out and then Im finding that with what I wanna do, I can do it better on a program that costs like $500.
Gonna make it one day, believe me.
