I'm in an apartment. I never owned a house but I have been saving for one. I recently got a decent raise at work and me and my friend are considering going in on a house together. It'll be in my name but he will basically give me rent money to live there. I am just not sure what to look for when shopping around for houses. I can't get anything too expensive. Based on my credit and income, I think I can get a loan for around $130,000.

I do not but I can ask someone I know who does. My sister recently bought a house. I will see what she says. You have a decent amount there. If I applied for a loan right now, I would be lucky to get $60,000 lol

Have you considered going through a dealer instead of a bank? That tends to be a lot easier than trying to get an auto loan from a bank man.

I rent a house. I think it would be considered a duplex? Whatever the one is where you have two families under one roof but it is on top of each other. I split the rent with my younger bro and his friend. Only runs me $400 a month and I get a room to myself so I am fine with this. Don't think I will ever buy a house.

Don't dealers have WAY higher interest rates though? I could have sworn my brother did that a few years back and they ended up screwing him over with the payments and took the car back. I will have to ask him what he did.
