Grand Theft Auto is a video game series that parodies and satirizes criminal elements in order to create an atmosphere of cathartic release. What happens when that sort of setting becomes a reality?
Toronto found out recently when four men, including two rappers named Casper TNG and K Money, have been apprehended and arrested by the police for a total of one hundred charges between all four men. The complete list of charges include gun charges, drug possession, vehicular charges, and more.
While it's difficult to paint an accurate picture of what exactly happened that led to the arrest, few details are known: An officer observed a vehicle with four men sitting idle and wearing clothing that hid their identities. While calling for backup, one of the men left the vehicle wielding a firearm, then went onto fire into traffic and pedestrians. Thankfully, no one was injured.
After discharging, the man hopped back into the vehicle and the police gave chase. After the vehicle was stopped, the driver proceeded to ram into one of the officer's cars, severely damaging it in the process.
Afterwards, the vehicle in question ran a red light and then collided with a taxi before driving off against oncoming traffic in downtown Toronto. The vehicle ended up losing control, became totaled, and all four men attempted to flee the scene on foot before they were apprehended.
While both Rappers Casper TNG and K Money amassed a following on their local scene and appeared to be poised to break into the music scene, it would seem that after their chase their careers might be over. Thankfully, no one was injured, though no one knows the motives of the rappers and why they would throw promising careers away.
