Can an issue with bipolar become depression?

I was diagnosed this year with bipolar and I originally went in to see a doctor thinking I had depression. I just felt off for a long while and he ended up diagnosing me with bipolar. It was a lot to take in and I developed anxiety since then because of it. Now I am worried that I might end up with depression. Is this common? Can this happen?

Re: Can an issue with bipolar become depression?

Bipolar almost always includes depression from my understanding. This is because the mood can shift so greatly. It is usually one or the other though when it comes to anxiety. Are you sure you are bipolar and not something similar to schizoaffective? Like where you have very mild forms of all three?
